8 May 2014

This year has started off kind of ruff.  In January and February I was sent down to Fort Rucker, Alabama for Leadership School for the Army.  After getting back from Fort Rucker, I went home to Delaware, Ohio to spend time with my mother before she passed away on March 15, 2014.  While at home I started learning about HSMM-Broadband.  Learning about using 2.4 GHz routers for Amatuer Radio use was really interesting.  While at home I purchased two Linksys WRT56 routers to flash with the HSMM-Broadband firmware.

Upon returning to Alaska, I was sent with my unit down to Fort Polk, Louisiana for a training rotation.  While down there my wife Krystal fixed up my office and turned it into an aviation themed ham shack.

As you can see she gave me her desk to use for my radios.

Since returning from Fort Polk, I have been on the air a few times.  I am currently up to 15 different countries.  I helped put together a Crushcraft AS3 Yagi for the Elemendorf Amatuer Radio Club for use on Field Day.
